Meet the Craftsman
The Spanish Moss Workshop is rooted in my family's history and Cajun heritage.
I built my first casket in 2014, for my dad. His father and uncles were humble carpenters who built caskets for their community in Midland, Louisiana. My dad always talked about building his own casket, but when he ran out of time, I knew I wanted to make it my final gift to him. Ultimately, it was his gift to me. Pouring energy, creativity, and care into every detail of my dad's casket helped me to cope with my grief, and in the process, I also discovered a love for woodworking that I have now been developing for nearly a decade.

I founded The Spanish Moss Workshop to create locally crafted, affordable, quality caskets that honor our loved ones with beauty and dignity and are rooted in culture and tradition.
